On my trips through Macau, I often found new sights. Usually such sights were new casinos under construction or the discovery of an alley filled with restaurants and shops (I preferred to find the hidden gems). Of course, sometimes I arrived just before or after an event. Usually the events coincided with public holidays that incorporated plenty of festive decorations. 
On one trip in 2007, I came across what looked like a Disney knock-off for the Olympics. Turns out it was for a completely different athletic competition. It was the 2nd Asian Indoor Games. And that fowl holding the torch was the mascot.
